Client Problem

The government client required a full tender process for outsourced Cardiology Services for a multi-site public hospital district including the full contract design, evaluation process and award.

Caliba Solution

The local health district had a requirement to design and develop a contract and run a tender process to ensure value for money across two public hospital sites outsourced clinics situated within two hospitals in the district.

Caliba was engaged to complete a detailed discovery to understand the current model of service, cost provisions and funding model as well as managing the end-to-end tender project. The project had high importance to the district due to a change in service model to activity based, as well as an average spend exceeding $8 million per year. Considerable analysis was completed to provide the most appropriate DRG and MBS coding to ensure funding was obtained correctly.

Caliba is currently in the final stages of running a tender process for an $80 million contract for a 10 year service provision and is estimated to achieve $800k in savings per year over the life of the contract.
