Client Problem

The client was a regional health network that required the establishment of contractual agreements with private healthcare providers to outsource multiple elective surgery case mixes.

Caliba Solution

Caliba was engaged to run one of the largest tender processes undertaken by the client. Involving 6 surgery divisions over 18 months, the procurement process engaged private providers to create comprehensive cost transparent contracts for public elective surgery patients.

Covering; Ophthalmic, Endoscopy, Orthopaedics, Spinal, Trauma, Cardiology, Gastroenterology and other surgical specialties the project was extremely wide ranging and challenging.

Through extensive clinical and operational engagement across the network with executives, clinical and operational staff, our team undertook robust commercial and operational negotiations to obtain the best value for money proposals available and more importantly contracts that could be managed and referenced.

Agreements were established with the private providers to incorporate clear KPIs, reporting and referral requirements to meet the client's needs.
